Good lord, this weekend has been a ride!

Today, the games played out in a way that five of the six remaining teams are now 8-8 and will not resolve until the next and final week of the 2025-2026 season.

Only the Buccaneers lost for a 7-9 record for this week, cementing a losing season.

Four of five play their final game on the road.

Pittsburgh and Baltimore are playing for the AFC North and final playoff spot in the AFC.

Carolina and Tampa Bay are playing for the NFC South and final playoff spot in the NFC.

The other three 8-8 teams have been eliminated from the postseason but can affect seeding with wins against the playoff teams marked above with a (p).

@creator how will you handle it if the cowboys are 8-8-1? I assume as no?

@MRME anything construed as a .500 season with a tie isn’t a winning season. A given team must have more wins than losses, even with a tie or two on the books.

8-7-2 would resolve YES in the unlikely circumstance that a team finished two games with a tie score after overtime.

@LBeesley fair enough. Since cowboys max out at 8-8-1 they can resolve no.

Can’t believe we’re already down to 10 teams, but these final 10 will be interesting cases.

Yesterday saw Houston and Philadelphia join the winning season side.

I have some time off work later this week; I might try and whip up some num nums before Thursday’s game.
