Really just trying to get a feel for whether Manifold values this right at all.
Or if you're totally cool with corporations doing it for you..
Comments providing context are welcome.
The wording is a little confusing, surely participation in superintelligence alignment is a task that leads to the fulfillment of human rights, but it isn't the right itself, is it? That's like classifying the act of building clean water sources in impoverished nations as a human right, rather than a means to provide others with their rights.
None of the responses quite match my POV:
- Current AI labs (OAI, DeepMind, even Anthropic) doing this will probably be a disaster
- A democratic process setting an AI's values would also probably be a disaster (think about how misaligned the law is)
- The technical aspect of superintelligence alignment is unsolved in my eyes, and seems insanely difficult, so this whole issue is not actually the biggest problem (although if the technical aspect were solved, it would become one)
