The NY trial court found Trump in contempt, finding nine specific violations of the gag order prohibiting attacks on witnesses, jurors, court staff, and others. The judge wrote that he would not tolerate “willful violations of [the court's] its lawful orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, [the court] will impose an incarceratory punishment.” https://apnews.com/article/trump-stormy-daniels-hush-money-election-2024-d2f9badee0b28a60d32bc98c0d4e783f
This question will resolve YES if the court in this case orders Trump incarcerated for any reason OTHER than a guilty verdict, such as for a subsequent violation of the gag order. The order is all that counts for resolution of this question. For example, if the court orders Trump to be jailed but stays execution of the order pending appeal and Trump wins that appeal, the question would resolve YES even though Trump was never actually taken into custody.
Court indicates it will "consider a jail sanction" for future violations: https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/06/politics/merchan-trump-gag-order-contempt/index.html
