Corporations having more influence on policy than the citizenry is the threat.

That seems a more tangible threat than an angry mob overthrowing the military.

The threat to democracy comes from racist, intolerant, authoritarian leftists and liberal Democrats.

RFKJ probably meant democracy in the US, but worth considering whether a threat to democracy in the US is a threat to democracy worldwide, or maybe even democracy generally.
