NO

Context: Alexandra Capitanescu's song Choke Me glorifies strangulation. Great Britain is considering banning depiction of strangulation in adult entertainment.

Resolution criteria: If Romania withdraws it's song from the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, or the contest organisers disqualify it from entering the contest before or during the contest, resolves YES. If the song is allowed to be presented and evaluated, resolves NO.

Going into the voting, with no disqualification, so the clause "allowed to be presented and evaluated" triggers a NO resolution.

nothing will ever be as tragic as the serving kant ban :(

(It would be fairly surprising if BBC can do anything, though, because it’s not against the rules even if it’s against British laws)

bought Ṁ200 NO

Just to be sure:

  1. if the song is allowed after rewording (like Kant last year), does this resolve to NO?

  2. if Romania changes to a different song entirely, does this resolve to YES?

@vee a different song entirely would constitute withdrawing the song, so resolves YES. I doubt finessing the words willhappen. The song is essentially nothing but repetition of the "key phrase " that is the issue. If there is just those two words changed, maybe if they mean the same but are less shocking, resolve to 25% . If completly anodyne, to 75%

@JussiVilleHeiskanen Yeah I agree. It could be reworded to "chose me" but then it would be a pretty different song.
