87%
The hosts pick a market that doesn't have a lot of traders, ideally one created by a new user. The hosts and audience all research the question and bet on it live, and the new user gets a warm welcome to the site.
67%
The hosts compete in a forecasting/trivia game, and the audience bets live on who will win.
63%
Rapid fire questions, where the hosts (and audience) give their quick guesses to a few semi-randomly chosen questions.
62%
Host/panel review a selection of markets and discuss what makes markets more successful/valuable vs other markets in terms of engagement with traders. (i.e. know/get to know your market)
59%
The hosts interview an experienced trader and ask them about the biggest wins and losses in their manifold history.
56%
The guest shares a reading recommendation
54%
After discussing a large ongoing market, the hosts identify a "crux question" and create a new market for it on the live show's official manifold account. (Top traders on these crux questions win prizes and come on the show?)
50%
The hosts hold a live AMA for the guest(s)
44%
The hosts interview a member of the manifold staff about new manifold features/plans, and ask them questions from the audience.
43%
Members of the audience come on the show to brag about their profits from the week, bemoan their losses, or share the ideas for improving Manifold. Audience members get mana for participating!
41%
Interesting people (politics pundits, scientific experts, etc) are brought on as guests. They discuss whatever they are an expert in, and the hosts bring up markets related to what they are talking about
36%
The hosts talk to new users in discord, answer their questions, and give them some free mana to place some bets.

The hosts discuss the most popular/dramatic/hidden gem markets from the past week. They place bets as they discuss and debate whether those markets should be higher or lower.

Audience suggestions: a market much like this one is set up before/during the show, with suggestions for what the hosts should do/talk about. Options resolve YES if the hosts decide to do it, NO if they decide not to, N/A otherwise

The hosts interview experienced traders, either on Manifold and beyond and learn about strategies that can help the audience improve their bets.

Get two whales and facilitate a large bet or two.

Edit: I'm now planning on running this with @NcyRocks! Our proposal is online here.

Manifold is getting ready to fund some community projects. The full terms of that initiative are still being set, but I spotted a few great ideas in the draft:

I think all three of these ideas could be combined into a weekly live show in the Manifold Discord.

You could welcome new users, have experienced users on as hosts, and generally help build up a sense of community by having a time for everyone to get together and do Manifold simultaneously once a week. For anyone that can't make the live show, it would also be available in vod/podcast form after.

I feel like there's definitely interest in manifold content like this, especially with the two existing manifold podcasts not uploading very often. I'm thinking about putting together a proposal for something like this, but I'm curious what kind of show people think would be most interested in.

If no such show ends up happening by market close, I will resolve all options to N/A.

If a show does happen, I will resolve options in this market to YES if the show includes that segment more than once before market close. If there is a show and a segment does not occur more than once by market close, that option resolves NO.

A segment doesn't have to occur exactly as described in this market to resolve YES, anything in the same spirit as the option will count. I will not trade on this market.

Also, comment or DM me if you might want to co-host! And submit ideas for segments you would tune in for!

And this?

The hosts discuss the most popular/dramatic/hidden gem markets from the past week. They place bets as they discuss and debate whether those markets should be higher or lower.

Can this resolve YES yet?

hmmm yeah I think the top 3 all resolve yes

feel free to eat up the liquidity, I'll resolve them in a minute

Get two whales and facilitate a large bet or two.

Find a couple Manifold whales. Ask them each to pick a handful of markets in advance and write down probabilities and max bet amounts. Facilitate a large bet per the even odds method or similar.

Then talk about the market and the bet. Try to find a crux or two and a relevant second market to bet on. Write one if it doesn't exist. Get another bet.

Two markets, maybe three at most, in an episode.

Having achieved funding, we're now figuring out the best ways to use the funding! One of our big ideas is prizes for audience participation, and I've now got a new market up for that here:

Alright, we're planning our first test show for Sunday afternoon and we've got a market up for project funding!

If you might want to be a guest on the show, shoot me a message! If we get funded you'll even get paid!

This is now happening! We've got a market for potential guests up here:

And our proposal is submitted to mainfund here.

Feel free to add your name even if you might only want to pop in for a bit! The market on appearnces counts both "Official Guests" and just people who call in for a part of the show.

Also maybe add a few hundred in liquidity to the market while you're at it?

👍 I like this idea. Showcasing new market creators that are making compelling markets.

Audience suggestions: a market much like this one is set up before/during the show, with suggestions for what the hosts should do/talk about. Options resolve YES if the hosts decide to do it, NO if they decide not to, N/A otherwise

If this works well enough you could possibly outsource your entire program 🤔

Ooooo agenda by market! I like it!

Interesting people (politics pundits, scientific experts, etc) are brought on as guests. They discuss whatever they are an expert in, and the hosts bring up markets related to what they are talking about

Would love to do this!

bought Ṁ1 of Interesting people (... YES

(Might be difficult to get really notable guests, of course)
