If a series of awards are given out based on this market by March, all categories submitted here which are used as awards will resolve yes, and all options not used will resolve no.
If no group of awards are given out based on this market by March, all options will N/A.
I'm thinking it might be fun to have a series of free response markets similar to /BTE/manifold-market-of-the-year and /Joshua/who-will-be-time-person-of-the-year-f73c35350567, but with more specific categories so that a variety of markets can be recognized.
I think it wouldn't resolve to public polls, but rather to a panel of impartial judges.
The overall goal would be to highlight markets with a variety of notable attributes that future market creators can look to for inspiration, hoping to win future award shows! If this went well, I think it would be fun to regularly have awards like this, maybe on a cycle of every three months or so, to incentivize high-quality markets.
There's a lot of different ways this could work, so I'm going to leave the exact resolution criteria vague for now.
It might just be a low-key thing based on some Discord Polls of the judges, or it might be a whole Manifold:Live episode with prizes! Or maybe I don't have time, and someone else takes the concept and runs with it in some other way!
I've provided a few ideas of my own, but I am eager to hear suggestions! I may pre-emptively N/A unhelpful suggestions, or suggestions which I think are too close to existing suggestions. I'm looking for unique categories, so that the same couple of markets don't end up winning every award. Ideally the categories would have non-obvious winners, so that the markets about predicting the winners would be competitive.
I think this would probably work best with a small number of awards, so don't bet too many too high! I will allow myself to place token bets in this market, but will spend no more than 100 mana.
@Joshua I'd suggest you all un-watch the market to avoid getting spammed with notifications when I N/A everything
nomination for: "Most tempting market for people to throw their entire account away on to manipulate" - https://manifold.markets/Ernie/will-the-main-lk99-market-ever-reac-dde9ffe15089
I'd name them a little differently. They all blend together when it's "Best ______ market"
"Best market where manifold was dumb" --> "Biggest Stumper"
Also, you're looking for the market with the highest amount of [Attribute], not the best market that had some of [Attribute]
"Best original market" --> "Most Original"
@MichaelWheatley Good suggestion, too confusing when there's two different metrics being judged. I might do some editing on these.
@Ernie there are so many awesome ways to run markets. Imagine an anon poll that costs 500 per vote, one vote per person, top 1000 users only can vote
And similar things where there is a combination of a voting truly but also some gamification
