Sorry I'm new to this, since it hasn't been resolved as of this date I thought N/A was appropriate. Should I have resolved differently?
@JonStiles No problem - generally when a market has a close date, that means the market is referring to if the thing in the title happens by that time. Sometimes people stipulate something else in the description, but that's the default.
So since he wasn't reinstated by market close, generally I'd expect this market to resolve NO.
@DanMan314 Personally, I’d actually have expected the close date to be extended - it’s very easy to do - and then for the market to resolve NO only if there’s a different speaker (or a different congress). However, actual best practice is to explain in the description how you will resolve.
@JonStiles I was also expecting this market to resolve NO (or YES, in the unlikely event that McCarthy’s reinstated) and I got my bot to trade based on that assumption. Normally if you want to ask whether something will happen before some date, you put that in the question (or at least the description). Otherwise the date should be interpreted as an estimate of when it will resolve.
I can reopen this market if you want, or I can leave it as is - up to you.
