This database migration has been a long time coming for Manifold. We started adding Supabase to replicate our firebase database about a year ago.
We made rapid progress for a while, but then mostly paused our efforts when it came to migrating the betting system, which was the most difficult piece.
Recently we've brought back @mqp to take the lead in completing this migration.
To resolve YES, we need to move the source of truth of all the remaining collections to Supabase (postgres) tables. We can still use Firebase auth and other misc services.

Congrats to @Sinclair for powering through the migration to completion this month!
We even had a stress test of our infra with the surge of trades from the debate, and it's held up pretty well! Still a few more bugs for us to fix of course. I think we can have a rock-solid backend by November.
