Will my next laptop use Linux?

My old laptop seems to be dying, so I need to get a new one. I've been using Mac for the past 10+ years, so it's nice and familiar. But I don't like how controlling Apple has become, nor how overpriced their laptops are. Moving to another hardware company would also allow me to have nicer hardware, like one of those hybrid touch screens you can fold behind the keyboard to turn the laptop into a tablet, or a laptop with multiple fold-out screens.

On the other hand, I'd like it if my computer can play at least some games, and Linux is even worse than Mac for that. Also I travel a lot, and travel light, so thinness and lightness of the laptop is important, and Apple excels at that.

If I end up installing multiple operating systems on my new laptop, this market resolves based on the one I use the most often.

Mine does. (I installed Mint) And my next one will (not sure if Mint or something a bit more bleeding edge). Not planning on returning to Windows any time soon.

Linux (and not) related

proton (linux compatibility layer) is pretty good these days for games, and the framework laptop (which is designed with linux in mind) has very good reviews

I was facing the same choice recently, and ultimately ended up with an elitebook + arch. Pros: slightly larger, theoretically similar repairability to the framework. Cons: I've got occasional graphical glitches that I think are part of the AMD integrated graphics, you might have better luck with intel. I haven't really tried much gaming yet
