@Quroe if someone takes a pamphlet you wrote and reorders/edits a few of the words to turn it into a call for violence, to what extent would a court find you liable for the downstream consequences of that modified pamphlet?

I feel like this is more similar to putting your signature endorsement on something. Sure, if you put your signature endorsement on a pamphlet, then somebody edits the pamphlet, you're not liable for that.

But can you even put your signature endorsement on an LLM like that?

@Quroe libel laws might be the ones that are the most similar between jurisdictions. So if an open source LLM you released is accused of libel then how do courts tie that back to you?

@Quroe like was there something you injected into the model that causes some libellous claim to persist through modification? Did others inject this through their modifications?
