I have finally convinced @TobiasVyseri to play Minecraft with me. She played it many years ago and got bored with it pretty quickly, so this was quite an achievement.
I'm looking for ways to play that she'll be more into. This could be mods, texture packs, command block/datapack creations, prebuilt maps, multiplayer servers, etc.
Themes:
She played Minecraft ~10 years ago and is used to what it was like back then, so the more stuff that's new and different, the better. She'll enjoy there being new stuff to discover.
She has very... refined aesthetic tastes, and dislikes the default 16 bit Minecraft textures. A reskin that looks prettier may appeal to her.
She likes games that feel like they have a purpose, and Minecraft is pretty purposeless. Anything that gives her a specific and challenging goal would be good. It needs to be a goal that feels thematically appropriate and "big", not something arbitrary or self-imposed.
Relatedly, she likes compelling storylines. She might like a modification to Minecraft that makes it more like an RPG, with specific plot-related things to discover rather than infinitely repeated procedural generation.
She enjoys combat and games with combat systems that "feel" good. She deeply lamented the lack of a dodge roll in Minecraft. Any mods that try to make combat more similar to other games could be good.
She prefers teamwork over PvP. Anything that would let us team up towards a common goal would be good; puzzles, defending ourselves against attack, etc.
For comparison, she quite enjoys Don't Starve. She finds its aesthetics much nicer than Minecraft's, and the constant struggle to survive gives her something to work towards.

Please add suggestions! Answers will resolve based on whether she enjoyed them. (I'll enjoy almost anything Minecraft, so don't worry about me.)
Note that I'm not going to accept anything that doesn't work with the most recent main version of Minecraft unless it's really cool.
