I had a 2015 Macbook pro for a long time. Recently I bought a 2024 version and copied everything over with Time Machine. Been using the new one for about a year now and it seems fine. I have multiple backup drives. But I still worry that if I wipe and sell (realistically, throw out) the old one, I might end up needing some file that got missed in the clone. Like a game save that for some reason got stored in one of the folders that Time Machine doesn't back up.
