Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if ChatGPT experiences a major bug or glitch between August 7, 2025, and August 14, 2025, inclusive. A "major bug or glitch" is defined as an incident that:
Significantly disrupts ChatGPT's normal operations, resulting in widespread user impact.
Is acknowledged by OpenAI through official channels, such as their blog or status page.
If no such incident occurs within the specified timeframe, the market will resolve to "No."
Background
ChatGPT has previously encountered significant bugs:
March 2023: A bug exposed some users' chat titles and, in certain cases, payment information, including names, email addresses, and partial credit card details. (openai.com)
February 2024: A glitch caused ChatGPT to generate nonsensical and gibberish responses for several hours, disrupting user interactions. (firstpost.com)
These incidents highlight the potential for unforeseen technical issues in AI systems.
Considerations
Monitoring: Users should monitor OpenAI's official communications for any announcements regarding system issues.
Definition of 'Major': Minor bugs or brief disruptions that do not significantly impact user experience or are not acknowledged by OpenAI will not qualify as "major" for the purposes of this market.
