If i play a game for more than a month with constant interest then i count that the game sticks.
Here is my gaming history, with durations:
Ballistics ~ month
Portal 2 ~ couple years
Minecraft ~ couple years
Ace of Spades Vanilla ~ year
Team fortress 2 ~ couple years
CS:GO ~ 4 years
The witness ~ month
Robocraft ~ months
Chess ~ year
Terraria ~ month
Project Euler ~ months
Voleyball ~ couple years
Subterfuge ~ 6 months
Neptune's pride ~ month
Rock climbing ~ 2 years
Campus zombie tag ~ month
Rocket League ~ months
Dead by daylight ~ 4 years
Tiny Chessbots tournament from Sebastian Lague ~ month
Overwatch 2 ~ month
Some of those intervals overlap.
Resolves at the end of 2025, might resolve earlier in december.
Negatively by default, Positively if one of suggestions in the comments sticks ( I keep interest in the game for a month of 2025).
I will comment whether I tried the suggested game or not, and what i disliked.
Ballatro feels exactly like SNKRX. Addons, multiplicators, synergies, limited hand. The same gold interest mechanic. The same "reset to make the game harder".
I think I completed SNKRX in less than a month, and i expect Ballatro not to have anything new to me, so i might lose interest even sooner. Maybe I will try achievement hunt, but unlikely.
@GleamingRhino Sebastian Lague is youtuber, makes videos about game-programming. His challenge grabbed my attention for a whole month: programming own chessbot is like being addicted to a gaming.
I have discovered Chaturaji in chess.com variants. Looks so fun, that i might build my own set to play it.
@DavidOman I used chatgpt and gemini over the last couple years, did not help even with essay-prompt. They are good to find what FITs the sequence, but It seems I have already played all obvious choices, and i look for something completely new/different to me, not famous, and ai's are bad at this.
Last week I studied fantasy sports, but it did not hook me.
rs6 and outer wilds have high pc requirements (i own only a laptop, tried to run them, was unplayable).
Factorio i expect being similar to Shapez, which i played, and i have no further will into the genre.
I played Portal reloaded, and many other mods, and they are not holding attention for a whole month.
KSP is not interesting to me.
I do not like time investment in every match of 4x games.
Long story short. I am familiar with all those titles and they are not suitable.
@Henry38hw Factorio is much more indepth and nuanced with interesting defense mechanics, trains, fluids and lots of other things. Definitely recommend, I have over a thousand hours in it. If you prefer something more graphically beautiful, Satisfactory is fun too.
Also check out RimWorld, interesting colony builder where every colonist has backstory, skills and personality. No classes or units, only people doing jobs and having mental breakdowns.
Not sure if you are into deck builders, but if you want to try - Slay the Spire is a great single player rogulike deck builder.
