Resolution criteria

  • This market resolves to the name of the European country with a general/national election scheduled or planned for 2027 that holds its election first (earliest calendar date), starting from the market creation date.

  • Eligible countries are the 4 big EU countries that will have a presidential/parliamentary election in 2027 or earlier if called.

    • France: Presidential election (the first round of voting, or any snap legislative election if called earlier).

    • Spain: General legislative election (Congress of Deputies / Senate).

    • Poland: Parliamentary election (Sejm / Senate).

    • Italy: General legislative election (Chamber of Deputies / Senate).

    • Other countries: Not considred. I just couldn't remove the option 'Other'

  • The country whose election is held on the earliest calendar date wins. If a snap election is called and held prior to the scheduled 2027 dates (including in late 2026), that earlier date will be used for that country.

  • If multiple countries hold their elections on the same day and it is the earliest date, the market will resolve to a tie/split among those countries.

  • Election dates will be verified via official governmental electoral portals and reputable international news outlets.

Background

  • France: The next presidential election is scheduled for April 18, 2027 (first round), with a potential runoff on May 2, 2027. Incumbent President Emmanuel Macron is constitutionally barred from running for a third consecutive term.

  • Spain: Spain's general election must be held by August 22, 2027 at the latest.

  • Poland: Poland's next parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place by November 11, 2027.

  • Italy: Italy's next general election is scheduled by December 22, 2027.
