Resolved
NO

Resolves YES if Congressional hearings on the FTX collapse call anyone to testify who is strongly involved in the effective altruist movement/community (eg, senior staff of EA-affiliated orgs), aside from members of SBF's family or employees of FTX/Alameda.

(Question credit to my colleague Josh, who didn't want to risk getting distracted by opening Manifold himself.)

@GavrielK are you intending to resolve this at some point in the future, or should it resolve (presumably NO) now? If resolve in the future maybe reopen?

@DanMan314 Sorry about this, I haven't had time to read a record of the hearings carefully, but a quick skim makes it look like just the executives were called. I suppose I can assume at this point that I would have heard about it if EAs had been called to testify. Thanks for reminding me.

(Haven't seen anything to imply upcoming hearings.)

predicted YES

@GavrielK for what it's worth, I would've assumed this would resolve N/A if there were no congressional hearings

predicted NO

@berealistic yeah totally! Would've resolved NA if there were no hearings--to be clear, I confirmed there were hearings, did a really quick skim of the reporting, and then resolved.

predicted YES

@GavrielK oh my bad!

Does eg Nick Beckstead (head-ish of the Future Fund, but I don't believe an FTX employee) count?

@NeelNanda Yes, Future Fund people count as long as they weren't employees of the company FTX. (When I wrote this, I figured someone senior at FF or GAP (aside from Gabe) seemed like the most likely people to fulfill this market.)
