In history there have been many times a supernova has been visible by the naked eye, even during the day. However this hasn't happened since 1987, and before that in 1604
For this market to resolve as "yes" there has to be a supernova that is visible without the use of any instruments by people with normal vision, ideally during the day but if it's only visible at night it will be enough
