I'm a first-year in a math Ph.D. program. The qualifying exam is in analysis and is one of three exams I need to pass (I've passed the topology and algebra exams in earlier attempts). The program allows ~2 years to complete the quals.
The exam is in May (during the second week). Results usually come out about a week after.
Forgot to mention earlier: sometimes they give a pass based on some condition. If that occurs, I'll resolve based on whether I meet the condition before the next exam (in August).

@EternalRefreshment I am glad to see this resolve YES, (not for my whopping 4 mana profit but for your academic progression towards your Ph.D)
I know I should buy NO to discount YES to give you a M$ incentive to buy in low and make $$$ Profit $$$ when this market resolves YES, but if you are in a math Ph.D. program presumably you are there by choice (blink twice if you are in danger) and already have an intrinsic motivation to pass your exam and progress through your program, so I am buying YES in moral support.
