Will clicking this give me the loan?

Resolved
NO

I'm going to click it in 2-3 hours.

If I come back in 2-3 hours and the button is not clickable, resolves No. If I come back in 2-3 hours and the amount in the loan changes, that doesn't matter.

I have a reasonable understanding of how I might be able to fix this now, but I'll wait to finish a few other changes first which this could meaningfully conflict with.

I should've believed more strongly in the bug...

@ChurlishGambit FWIW at the time I created the market my belief was 0% but I opened it at 50% to make sure people took note and gave it some thought!

filled a Ṁ131 NO at 20% order

Okay, it has been 2-3 hours. Genzy never showed up but we must stick to the name of the game.

I'm going to close the market now and go check on the button.

@Eliza I went back to check on the loan button and wouldn't you know it, the loan is no longer available!

Based on the market criteria, this means the market resolves No.

@Eliza (In case anyone is wondering why this was a market, I'm mainly trying to see how many other users are seeing this bug on a regular basis to help Genzy gather information about it in trying to fix it. If you have had this happen to you, report in! And if you have NEVER had it happen, report that too!)

@Eliza yes it happens to me. When I have already collected my loan for today

@Eliza Ah I was hoping you wouldn't close it early and it would resolve YES lol. I had a simple script running to bet YES with a bunch of mana as soon as you got a loan.

@PlasmaPower That would have certainly been a great play! I didn't even think of that but I wanted to make sure no one thought I myself would buy Yes after clicking the button, which kinda felt unfair to me, so I closed it just in case.

opened a Ṁ500 NO at 25% order

Eliza's userId is "hqdXgp0jK2YMMhPs067eFK4afEH3" from api.manifold.markets/v0/user/Eliza, which then from api.manifold.markets/v0/get-user-portfolio?userId=hqdXgp0jK2YMMhPs067eFK4afEH3 you can see that Eliza has 89974.8021478905 total equity and 136721.540446711 loanTotal. The total loan limit is 100% of equity for Eliza's free tier, but since loanTotal is already greater than total equity, Eliza should not be able to acquire more daily loans, and thus the loan option is likely just a common visual bug.

bought Ṁ141 NO

I think my logic is solid but there are also too many potential factors for me to bet much more. If anybody with a greater risk tolerance wants to take my position I'll sell into a NO limit order at 20% (Tag me).

@Dssc yes put up 20% plz

@Jack1 I can't I have no more balance

opened a Ṁ138 YES at 20% order

@Jack1 Ok I think I put up the limit order correctly

Why wouldn’t it?

bought Ṁ50 NO

@xjp I've had that button show up but not give me a loan before. It seems to be a bug.

@xjp It frequently tells me there is a loan available when there isn't. It's been an ongoing problem that Gen has tried to solve, but can't figure out what the issue is. I'm grateful he's spent so much time on it! & it sucks that he has had to spend time on it.

It all started when @SG overhauled the loan system with no warning & caused all the disruptions, I think he broke something that wasn't fixed when he added the free loans back in.

@Gen For your pleasure.
