FloBikes announced they had signed with InFront for a deal through 2024 to broadcast Flanders Classics races in the USA.
What will happen with these InFront/FC/etc. races for 2025? Will FloBikes retain them? Will Peacock or Max/Discovery make a better deal? It seems like WBD/GCN/Eurosport had troubles negotiating with these race organizers in the past for European rights, at least.
I'm planning to resolve it Yes as soon as there is a definitive announcement and the market strongly agrees it looks to be the case. I don't really want to wait all the way until April 2025 just to move from 99% to Yes. If InFront/Flanders Classics and/or the broadcaster makes an announcement, we will resolve right away.
This is a proxy for all of Flanders Classics, which seem to be a package deal. Other races from InFront currently on FloBikes are Suisse, Pologne, Amstel Gold, and the World Championships. If there is interest, we can also make markets for those!
This question is intended to resolve to one answer for an exclusive broadcast deal. If the exclusive partner presents the stream in multiple places "Streaming on Max and also available on Discovery+", it will resolve equally to each. That has to be clearly stated in the original, official announcement. If the original announcement says "On Max" and it later comes out that you could also see it on another platform, that will be too late, and also wouldn't count.
If there is a non-exclusive deal, where two or more completely separate companies have the rights, we'll resolve to each equally? This seems like a nightmare, let's hope it does not happen. They would need to coordinate announcement dates.
