Resolution criteria
This market resolves to YES if a member of the Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance (Fidesz) party officially assumes office as Prime Minister of Hungary at any point before January 1, 2030, 00:00 UTC. Otherwise, this market resolves to NO.
Official confirmation of the election and swearing-in of the Prime Minister by the National Assembly (Országgyűlés) will serve as the primary source of truth. Official parliamentary records can be verified at parlament.hu.
Background
In the April 12, 2026 parliamentary election, Fidesz–KDNP was defeated after 16 consecutive years in government by Péter Magyar's Tisza Party. Péter Magyar was subsequently sworn in as Prime Minister in May 2026. The next regularly scheduled parliamentary election is expected in 2030.
