Were any of the Venezuelans recently deported from America to El Salvador's mega-prison innocent?

On March 15, the U.S. government deported 238 male Venezuelan citizens on three flights to El Salvador, accusing them of being part of a transnational gang known as Tren de Aragua, which President Trump has labeled a foreign terrorist group and wartime enemy. They are presently incarcerated in a maximum-security prison known as CECOT.

The U.S. government has said in a court declaration that while some of those expelled have criminal histories in the U.S., "many" do not.

Many relatives of the deportees deny their kin have gang ties or a criminal record, saying they were simply searching for better lives or escaping persecution in their turbulent homeland, part of the exodus that has seen millions flee Venezuela.

The poll question should be interpreted as "Innocent of any crime that would ordinarily land him in CECOT", e.g. illegal immigration alone does not count.

@Dauur Thanks for opening a market. I was considering running one myself but I was pessimistic about P(exonerating evidence | >0 innocents)

@DontGoHome yeah... Given there might not be a real court case, the required information might be higher
