As part of my Grand Random Eastern American Tour, I’ll be in Chicago for three days (7/28-7/31) with one friend, one couch to sleep on (near UChicago), and no other plans. I’m a semi-adventurous college student. So I’m unusually available!

Also, just for fun, I’m going via Milwaukee on 7/28, where I’ll arrive to the airport around 10:45am and leave via Amtrak at 3:00ish or (maybe) 7:35ish. No plans there either (though one of my friends says he can introduce me to someone in Milwaukee).

This market is inspired by the many trip bingo markets past. Add any options you think I might enjoy doing!

I’m not going to write detailed resolution criteria for everything, but note that I may resolve to a percentage (likely 25%, 50%, or 75%) if I think an option was partially satisfied.

I reserve the right to N/A an option if it is trivial, redundant, harmful, etc.

General policy for my markets: In the rare event of a conflict between my resolution criteria and the agreed-upon common-sense spirit of the market, I may resolve it according to the market's spirit or N/A, probably after discussion.

  • Update 2025-07-24 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The creator has clarified that this trip is part of a larger journey including St. Louis and Washington D.C. A stated goal of this journey is to visit new states, which makes detours to places like Indiana or Michigan more likely than the original description implied.

  • Update 2025-07-30 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The creator has provided a specific example of how partial resolution will be handled:

    • An option for visiting Indiana will likely resolve to 50%, as the creator passed through the state on a train without stopping.

  • Update 2025-07-30 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The creator has provided a new, specific example of how an activity could be partially resolved:

    • For an option to eat deep dish pizza, the creator consumed a total amount equivalent to more than one slice, but did not finish any single slice.

  • Update 2025-07-30 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): For the answer 'Eat a slice of deepdish pizza', the creator has stated it will likely resolve to a percentage. However, it may still resolve to YES if they eat a full slice before their flight the next day.

  • Update 2025-07-30 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): For an answer related to falling in love, the creator has stated they are leaning NO. They clarified that making new friends, while positive, is not sufficient for a YES resolution.

@Conflux This one is very interesting … I had over 1 total slice of deepdish, but I did not actually finish any slices. I’ve attached a photo of my plate

@Conflux I think I’ll resolve it to a percentage. Unless I eat a full slice before my plane tomorrow takes off (I took leftovers)

@Conflux which percentage though?

@TheAllMemeingEye I’ve actually decided to conduct a poll of my friends. Will report back

@Conflux hahahaha the whole thing is moot. Plane was a bit delayed. I ate a whole slice before we took off

One more day in Chicago! My flight is early tomorrow.

I had a fun four hours in Milwaukee, including infiltrating a wooden sign making class franchise owners conference. Forgot to go to the tool store though.

When I got to Chicago two days ago, I did see them setting up for Lollapalooza in downtown, but basically just took the train down to Hyde Park (UChicago area) where I’ve been having lots of fun hanging out with @JoJ and her AI safety researcher friends.

Yesterday I took the train with her friend Julian to New Buffalo, Michigan. Went to the beach, got “Michigummies”. Train passed through Indiana so that will almost certainly resolve 50%.

My inclination is spend the last day chilling in Hyde Park, but I think I’ll go to downtown to have dinner with my cousin. Might be deepdish, might stop at the Bean, but those options are probably a little high rn. I think I overestimated my amount of touristiness in Chicago

@Conflux Lol, I just made plans to meet my cousin at the Bean to get deepdish

bought Ṁ10 NO

@Conflux any progress on falling in love?

@TheAllMemeingEye Hmm. I’ve made some new friends, but I don’t think I’m in love with any of them. I’ll have to think about it but leaning NO

@Conflux is there a reason you want to visit a hardware store on a trip where you'll likely be struggling to fit all the interesting stuff in?

@TheAllMemeingEye Haha, a friend recommended it and it seemed like it was right next to the Amtrak station - so I could pop in for a few minutes maybe

bought Ṁ10 NO

@Conflux if you don't pop in to any of them I promise to give you half the profit I make from that option haha

@TheAllMemeingEye Thanks! I’m not too motivated by small mana bribes though

@Conflux Milwaukee Tool? 🤔

More like Milwaukee Fool! 🤣

This comment was made by Never Been To Milwaukee Gang 😎

@Conflux

77 - 20 = 57

57 / 2 = 28.5 ≈ 29

I shall send you 29 mana as promised 👍

@Conflux it is done

@TheAllMemeingEye aaaaa I genuinely just forgot to go in the store

thanks for the mana though!

@Conflux I could be incorrect, but Indiana is in the opposite direction to Milwaukee if you're starting in Chicago, right? Do you have significant reason to go out of your way to go all the way over there in a fairly short trip focused on these 2 other big places?

@TheAllMemeingEye It’s part of a bigger trip. I’m in St. Louis. I have a flight from Chicago to DC on the 31st. In between, I decided to go to Chicago via Milwaukee (for fun), but I would also consider checking off more states.

Currently the map of states I’ve been to, when colored blue, resembles an election map. I think the only blue states I haven’t been to are Vermont, NH, Maine, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. I might be able to finish them all off this trip. (New England comes about a month later)

@duck_master I just learned that the Milwaukee -> Chicago train is actually not very scenic and is always miles from the lake :(((

bought Ṁ10 YES

@Conflux surely if you visit the bean aka cloud gate the lake will be visible in the distance, and reachable via a short walk?

I’ll try to stop betting, to make it more fun for y’all
