Will TSA let me through airport security w/o a valid ID?

YES

Tomorrow morning (2023-04-13) I'll be flying to Austin, TX for a work meeting. However, I realized tonight that both my drivers license and my passport are expired (whoops).

This market resolves positively if I am able to pass through security despite not having a valid ID. Resolves "N/A" if I do not travel tomorrow or am otherwise impeded from traveling for any reason besides having a valid ID.

On the TSA ID page, it indicates that an expired ID may still be valid if expired by less than 1 year (mine expired a few months ago):

"If your driver's license or state-issued ID expired on or after March 1, 2020, and you are unable to renew at your state driver’s license agency, you may still use it as acceptable identification at the checkpoint. TSA will accept expired driver’s licenses or state-issued ID a year after expiration."

In addition, it seems like there are ways to confirm identity sans ID:

"In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete an identity verification process which includes collecting information such as your name, current address, and other personal information to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint. You will be subject to additional screening, to include a patdown and screening of carry-on property.

You will not be allowed to enter the security checkpoint if your identity cannot be confirmed, you choose to not provide proper identification or you decline to cooperate with the identity verification process."

Lol they didn't even comment on it being expired

How comfortable are you arguing with authority? I think it's quite plausible that they first tell you your ID isn't valid and you have to turn back, but if you don't back down and politely but firmly inform them of this regulation, they'll let you through. (Maybe carry a printout of the webpage with you, or have it pulled up on your phone.)

@IsaacKing I'm very comfortable arguing with authority and consider myself to have a good amount of politeness / firmness / social capability to figure out how best to interact with the person I'm dealing with

@CarsonGale I think you'll be fine then. Worst case scenario, if you get turned back, just try to find a different line with a different security guard and try again.
