Description:
This market resolves to "Yes" if a well-known public figure (such as a politician, celebrity, or scientist) publicly claims to have had an extraterrestrial encounter, and this claim is covered and verified by major credible news outlets, by December 31, 2026. The market resolves to "No" if no such verified claims are made within the specified timeframe.
Caveats:
Definition of Verified Encounter: For the purpose of this market, a "verified extraterrestrial encounter" means that the claim must be taken seriously and reported by multiple major news outlets (e.g., Reuters, BBC, CNN) and not immediately debunked or dismissed as a hoax.
Well-Known Public Figure: The claim must come from an individual who is widely recognized either nationally or internationally. This includes:
Politicians: Current or former government officials, elected representatives, or political leaders.
Celebrities: Prominent actors, musicians, athletes, or influencers with substantial media presence.
Scientists: Esteemed researchers, academics, or experts with a significant reputation in their field.
Public Claim: The individual must make the claim publicly through a press conference, interview, official statement, or social media post.
Timing: The claim must be made and reported publicly by December 31, 2026.
