Original title: ☀️ 🏡 When will the US meet the target LCOE of 5¢/kWh for residential photovoltaics? (edited 3/30/23 for scannability)
Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) is a metric for measuring the net present value of building (renewable) energy capacity.
The goal set by the US Department of Energy is to reach this target by 2030.
Market closes in early 2030.
I will resolve when US DOE issues a report confirming the target has been reached.
