NO

Context:

Gavin Newsom signed an EO suspending SB 9, a recent CA law that allows most single family home owners the ability to build ADUs or other small multi family units in areas zoned for single family homes, in the areas impacted by the 2025 Los Angeles Fires.

YIMBY Law has denounced this and threatened a challenge to the EO: https://www.yimbylaw.org/press/la-fire-newsom-blocks-duplexes

Question:

Will this EO be rolled back for any reason by August 2026?

I'll accept temporary injunctions or scaling it back to just the Palisades Highlands as "rolled back" even if we don't get a clear cut court ruling.

Planning to resolve no, but will do some googling around to make sure. Might be a couple days

looks like some cities caved, but "The legal battle continues for Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles and both Newsom and Bass."
