Will the Special Grand Jury in Fulton County Georgia recommend an indictment of Donald Trump?

YES

The Special Grand Jury cannot issue charges, but instead has more investigative powers than a normal grand jury. They finished work and completed their report with indictment recommendations last week and a hearing is set for the 24th to determine if that report is to be made public. This market resolves YES based on the reports recommendation of an indictment, resolves NO if recommends against an indictment.

To expand on my previous comment, it would be helpful if BTE provided some contingency for when he leaves the site, because it's obvious the georgia case will never happen or be unsealed and the close date will just keep advancing forever until the site goes bankrupt.

You're just going to keep moving the close date forever and it will never happen.

predicted YES

@MarkKeltoer Until it's unsealed, there's no point closing the market

@Gen are you suggesting that new york somehow also added the Georgia charges? That would be NO in that absurd circumstance.

predicted YES

@MarkKeltoer From what I understand the Georgia grand jury recommendations were made in February and are sealed.

predicted YES

@Gen I might be wrong tho happy to hear from @BTE who actually knows what's going on

@Gen yes that's true. It's just my bet they have nothing about trump and are just more joke charges.

I believe BTE thinks the Georgia file will be unsealed in the future. There's no reason that would happen and there's no reason they would after the new york charges fail. It will take a year to do the new york trial and bte will stop using the site and the mana in this question will be lost forever.

predicted YES

@MarkKeltoer Lol BTE won't stop using the site but I would agree that if the Georgia files aren't unsealed (or no indictments have been filed) by the next election, this market should probably resolve. Beyond the election I think they lose significance.

If the goal is to have an open ended market, the close date should just get set to 2030

predicted YES

What happens in New York has no bearing on this market. It also doesn't matter if you think the charges are "joke charges" or even if he is never indicted in Georgia.

The report has already been written, and it is almost certain to be released eventually. We can infer from what has been said by Fani Willis and the jurors that the special grand jury has most likely recommended indictments, so this would resolve YES in that case. If for some reason they announce the report will never be released, then it should resolve N/A because we would have no idea what the jury recommended in that case. Until then, this market should stay open.

@mattand if the report is never released then you would lose and the question would resolve NO, and bte would abandon the site and go into deep depression.

predicted YES

@MarkIngraham8bfe explain to me how we would know what the report recommends if we can never release the report. It would have to be N/A. Read the description of the market. BTE makes the rules here.

@mattand the question does not specify what would happen but regardless that would be a catastrophic situation that would lead to mass exodus of liberals and abandoned questions that will never resolve. We will see when it pretends to close in june.

predicted YES

@mattand Correct, but the law says they have to release the report eventually. No chance it doesn't get released. @MarkIngraham stop paying attention to Trump's hilariously bad attorneys.

predicted YES

@MarkKeltoer They cannot keep it sealed forever. The law is very clear that they have to make it public. Plus we already know with certainty that indictments were recommended because multiple members of the grand jury have said so. I am going to keep this open until it is released which won't be long.

predicted YES

@MarkIngraham8bfe LOL. You are annoying.

@BTE OK fine. I'll stop objecting to you changing the start date, it's fine if it just never resolves.

predicted YES

@MarkIngraham8bfe It's not the start date. It's the close date. And I can do whatever I want. I can close it and just wait to resolve it. But your comments make no sense. At all. So stop.

@BTE understood. And by the way your and mine comments are still visible on the profile, blocking doesn't work on this site, for future reference.
