George Santos has been shown to have fabricated basically everything about himself. Typically when the credibility of a prospective member is in question prior to them taking their oath it gets referred to a bipartisan panel for ruling. McCarthy will probably need Santos's vote to become Speaker and has not indicated that he will refer Santos to the ethics committee. This market resolves YES if McCarthy follows norms and Santos is referred for review before being permitted to take his seat.

@JakeWasserman McCarthy is supposed to refer him now before the swearing in ceremony as party leader. They can delay him from taking his seat pending investigation. This market closes on the day Santos is to be sworn in. Whether or not McCarthy is speaker is not relevant.
@BTE Gotcha.
Is there a scenario where another speaker candidate gets anointed as party leader 1st, & does that referring?
( I'm rusty on my parliamentary know how )
