It is well known that Xi Jinping literally disappeared from existence (both in person and on the internet) for approximately two weeks during the runnup to the 2013 Party Congress where he would ultimately take power after reemerging from wherever he went with no explanation to this day. However, very shortly thereafter his primary rival for top job, Bo Xilai, was arrested and ultimately convincted of crimes largely attributed to his wife and sentenced to lifetime house arrest. There has long been speculation that something happened between these two that explains both Xi's disappearance and Bo's subsequent imprisionment and Xi's extensive purges of all rival factions as undisputed People's Leader.
Resolution Criteria:
This prediction market will resolve as YES if, by December 31, 2027, any of the following occurs:
A reputable and widely recognized news organization publishes a report, based on verified and credible sources, that clearly indicates Bo Xilai's responsibility for Xi Jinping's disappearance prior to becoming president.
An official statement or legal document from the Chinese government or a recognized international organization, such as the United Nations, corroborates the claim that Bo Xilai was responsible for Xi Jinping's disappearance prior to becoming president.
A reputable and independent investigative journalist or organization provides well-documented evidence, including verifiable primary sources, that convincingly links Bo Xilai to Xi Jinping's disappearance prior to becoming president.
In all cases, the sources must be deemed credible, verifiable, and widely accepted by the international community. If none of these conditions are met by the specified deadline, the prediction market will resolve as NO.
