Under 2023 NFL rules there will be three teams from each conference (NFC and AFC) in the playoffs. A wild card team in the AFC playoffs is defined as a team who does not win their division, but who's win/loss record and applicable tie breakers grant entry into the conference playoffs.. This question will resolve on January 8, 2024, or once all wild card teams have been locked for the AFC Playoffs, whichever is sooner.
Dolphins should not have resolved. They have clinched a playoff birth but a loss to the Bills and they will be a WC
Bills are not likely to make the playoffs, think about it. The Ravens have nothing to play for while the Steelers are fighting for a playoff spot so the steelers will definitely win that game while the ravens rest their starters. Bills will probably lose to the dolphins as they have been playing horrible lately and are on the road against an angry Miami team that is superior in almost every way. Then the Jaguars will beat Tennessee because they have something to play for whereas the titans are already out. All of this eliminates the bills.
@ArianSharma "Miami team that is superior in almost every way."
I wonder if the Bills knew that when they beat the dolphins 48-20 earlier this year,
@houstonEuler Your neglecting the fact that they beat the 4-12 patriots by 6 points and barely escaped the chargers who got 63 put on them in the previous game had a new coach and a backup qb. The bills almost lost that. Josh Allen is the most inconsistent QB in existence. Miami on the other hand are angry and at home btw. Its hard to play in Miami, buffalo lost last year in Miami against a far worse team that had not gelled.
@ArianSharma "It's hard to play in Miami"
Maybe early in the season, when it's hot and humid, but not now. A few weeks ago, they LOST to the Titans at home...the Titans, letting Will Levis throw for a career high of 327 yards on 'em.
They have a good chance to win, but it's nowhere near as clear cut as you think.
@houstonEuler Maybe your right but to me its more 60/40 miami's favor and all these 95 percent buffalo playoff chances are extremley incorrect.
@ArianSharma Yeah, I can see that. 95% is too high considering the Steelers have already beaten the Ravens once, and the Ravens might rest their key starters for at least some of the game if not its entirety.
@ArianSharma 95% was too high (Vegas had it at 85%), but the Bills were favored by 3 points in Miami, so if you thought it was 60/40 Miami, then that's strong enough you should have pushed it down further.
@KevinBurke According to the NFL’s website they have clinched the second seed https://www.nfl.com/standings/playoff-picture
@Awerdna That says they have clinched a playoff spot and are currently the second seed. If they lose to Buffalo next week they will be a wild card. Please slow down on resolving these. Looks like you made another error in the NFC one with the Eagles.
@houstonEuler Unfortunately not, we don't have the ability to unresolve multiple choice answers. The more people report this as a bug, the most likely it is to get fixed, so I'd encourage everyone to go do that.
