Today, we support a variety of sort options, but James is proposing to remove some when we switch over to Algolia search (preview here: https://manifold-git-algolia-mantic.vercel.app/markets ; code here https://github.com/manifoldmarkets/manifold/pull/136) Try it, it's super fast! James is proposing we winnow down to: - Newest - Oldest - Most traded - 24h volume - Closing soon Sort options we'd be removing: - Most likely - Least likely - By tag - By creator - Most uncertain https://github.com/manifoldmarkets/manifold/pull/151 It's also likely we'll separate out sorting and filtering options, similar to the Portfolio page. Filtering options we'd split out (?): - Closed - Resolved Vote on your favorite options here with M$, and argue for sort options you want to see or remove! Remember that a lot of options add complexity to new users, so it's something we want to be deliberate about.

I think "resolve date" is ambiguous between "resolved recently" and "resolving soon".
AKA "Close date"
AKA "Resolve date"
For whales. Could unlock it for users with more than M$10,000 to avoid complicating the UI for newcomers.
Resolving soon would be better, but we don't have a resolution date separate from closing date.
Any plans to reduce the ability to manipulate this with wash sales?
I think that there are roughly two "modes" for exploring markets, either you have some vague idea for what you're trying to bet on and you want to search for it (this is the one for which using Algolia helps), or you're just perusing for things that you might have a differentiated view from the consensus on (which is where "most uncertain" or something like that, which might exclude new markets, comes in handy).
There is a path to supporting this (and/or least likely/most likely) which would be to store the most recent probability on the market document. We already update the document with the time of the last bet, so it wouldn't be that hard.
