Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if, by December 31, 2045, a publicly acknowledged artificial superintelligence (ASI) has not wiped out humanity and explicitly demonstrates concern for wildlife suffering beyond charismatic megafauna. This demonstration must be verifiable through credible sources, such as official publications, statements, or actions taken by the ASI that indicate a commitment to addressing or mitigating the suffering of wild animals. If no such evidence is available by the resolution date, the market will resolve to "No."
Background
Artificial superintelligence refers to a hypothetical AI system that surpasses human intelligence across all fields. The ethical considerations of ASI, particularly regarding non-human entities, are subjects of ongoing debate. Some scholars argue that ASI should alleviate or solve wildlife suffering.
