[THIS IS FOR THE 2024 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP]
Resolves YES if Sergio Perez finishes in 2nd place or wins the World Drivers Championship in 2024, either by season end, or when his position becomes mathematically impossible to challenge.
If Sergio Perez is replaced mid-season/retires or is otherwise no longer a driver on the grid the market will continue, using his final points in the standings prior to his leaving for the market.
If Perez never starts the 2024 season (eg. retires between 2023 season end, and the first 2024 race) the market will resolve N/A. As soon as Perez participates in a Grand Prix practice session, the market will count his participation in the season.
Norris is in 2nd with 297 points
Perez 150 points
146 points is max available to one driver in remaining 5 races ((25+1)*5+8*2)
so mathematically possible for Perez to get to 296 points.
so mathematically impossible for Perez to come 2nd.
Even if somehow Norris got more penalty points deducted than points he scores in last 5 races, it would seem extremely unlikely that Leclerk on 275 points would fail to score 22.
The description mentions "mathematically impossible to challenge" in respect of resolving yes. Should we assume this should also be applied to when it becomes impossible to reach as high as second?
In a few hours it might be clearer with Perez 18th on grid so he might well be unable to get to 3rd after this race. If that happens I think this should resolve.
1 Max Verstappen Red Bull 362
2 Lando Norris McLaren 315
3 Charles Leclerc Ferrari 291
4 Oscar Piastri McLaren 251
5 Carlos Sainz Jnr Ferrari 240
6 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 189
7 George Russell Mercedes 177
8 Sergio Perez Red Bull 150
Remaining points 26*4+8*2=120 so most Perez can reach is 270 points.
Think this should resolve @Arch1e
