I've been using Augment Code since March as my primary coding agent. I'm use JetBrains IDEs (mostly IntelliJ and RubyMine) and good support for those was a big reason I went with Aigment.
I've been primarily using it on my side projects and been loving it. It's only been getting better.
I recently started a consulting engagement and have been burning through about 30,000-40,000 credits on an average day. That's about $20.
This weekend I'll try Claude Code on my side project and if that goes reasonably well, I'll continue using it during the week.
Resolution criteria. I'll be mostly traveling over the holidays and want to give Claude Code a fair shot and also see how costs come out. So this market won't close till end of January.
If on February 1st, Claude Code has replaced Augment Code as my regular, trusted coding companion, this market resolves YES.
If I return to Augment for an occasional task but primarily keep using Claude Code, this still resolves YES. It's about the default agent.
I'll not participate in this market.
Claude Code actually works pretty well in IDEA, so if the foundational concept of the terminal and the command line being the interface (basically, your cursor and typing will mostly live in the bottom window where your shell is, not in the upper half where we used to type in the code in the ancient times) appeals to you, you just might prefer it and stick with it. And from what I understand of Augment's pricing, you'll burn way fewer dollars with Claude.
