Dolphins vs Minnows (Which team will get more points)

NO

A variant of Whales v Minnows, with clear resolution criteria:

Scoring:
Team YES (dolphins) gets 1 point per FULL 1000 YES shares owned by anyone, up to a maximum of 10 points per account (for having 10k+). No partial points are awarded (which makes it easier to calculate)! Having 999 YES is worth 0 points for example. Thus each yes bettor can be worth 0 to 10 points.

Team NO (minnows) gets exactly 1 point per NO bettor of at least 1 share.

Thus, one dolphin account can counteract up to 10 minnow accounts.

In a tie, team NO wins!

Close:
The market resolves at the listed close, with no BS about closing time. People can snipe, but each person can only be worth a max of 10 YEs or 1 NO, so one person will not be able to determine the result on their own with a snipe.

Alts/Account age:

Only accounts which were created on April 18, 2023 (UTC), or earlier count! (Even if they are alts or bot accounts). This means no one can create new alts to manipulate the market, or recruit. People could use them to manipulate the price of the market, but I dont think that will be a big factor.
It should be much simpler to verify if an account was created on this date or earlier, than to decide whether something is an alt. So there should be no ambiguity.

Can this resolve? Anyone keeping score? I got Minnows (NO) winning but not sure about the alt/account age stuff.

Unlisting this cause we wanna chill out with this sorts of markets for a bit haha.

This doesn't affect the market itself, but will make it harder for new people to find. I'll also be keeping a close eye on it to make sure it doesnt escalate and lead to lots of mana being bought to trade on it.

predicted NO

@DavidChee I think the more restrictive and 'experiance-based' clarifications make this market way more safe and fair but we still very much appreciate y'all investment!

If for whatever reason the resolution criteria of this market ends up looking controversial, would you offer to delegate the decision to a third party council?

@tornado Yes. The goal is that it will be very clear however! Nothing should be ambiguous.
All of the tricks should be in the moves that participants make, and not in the market rules :)

Can you clarify the meaning of this: "Thus, one dolphin account can counteract up to 10 minnow accounts."?

@ZZZZZZ One dolphin account can score up to 10 points for YES by having 10k+ shares. One minnow account can score up to 1 point for NO by having 1 or more shares. Thus the maximum number of minnows that one dolphin can cancel out is 10. (Whereas in WvM, Isaac can theoretically win on his own vs 500 people).

@AlexRockwell By "Cancel out" i just mean they scored the same number of points on opposites sides.

bought Ṁ10 of YES

Can I recommend we N/A this market and do it afterwards?

bought Ṁ10 of NO

@MarcusAbramovitch This will extend multiple weeks after the resolution of WvM, so I think its fine. WvM will be done in a week and we'll have a couple weeks left here.

I'll be here once I'm done with the WvM market
