Resolved
NO

I tested positive for COVID-19 for the first time in my life today.

I have immediately started a course of Paxlovid.

If I get COVID-19 again between today and resolution date, I will try to ignore the effects of that, and focus on the effects this iteration of getting COVID has on me.

Resolves to my own determination in March 2024.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

โ€œSome research suggests that people with mild cases of COVID-19 usually recover within 1โ€“2 weeks of contracting the initial SARS-CoV-2 infection. For severe cases of COVID-19, recovery can take 6 weeks or longer.

Currently, researchers may defineTrusted Source post-acute COVID-19 as symptoms extending beyond 3 weeks since onset and chronic COVID-19 as symptoms extending beyond 12 weeks since onset.

Other researchers refer to long COVID as COVID-19 symptoms that last for longer than 2 monthsTrusted Source.โ€

@SusanneinFrance To be clear, Iโ€™m fine now! Iโ€™m trying to pay attention in case thereโ€™s anything subtle that might be affecting my ability to do research.

@Alana Good to hear !

couldn't long COVID do this?

@duck_master Yup that's the worry. So far it doesn't seem to have materialized

Also market is necessarily about longer term effects. Obviously being currently sick is temporarily bad for my research ability.
