Background

In modern cosmology, the cosmological principle says that our position in the Universe is not special: Things look the same on large scales in all directions (isotropy), and from place to place (homogeneity).

Although models under the cosmological principle are largely successful, certain observations remain difficult to explain. There is an ongoing debate whether the principle actually holds (https://arxiv.org/abs/2207.05765).

Resolution

This market resolves to "Yes", if the current standard model of cosmology is replaced by a future one that rejects the cosmological principle. This market resolves to "No" if this does not happen by the market closing time
