Economics 1014: Principles of Microeconomics is a foundational course at the University of Missouri, serving as a core requirement for all Economics, Business, and Journalism majors. Due to filling the Social Science requirement for degrees in the College of Arts and Science, it maintains a high enrollment with a diverse student cohort.
This market will resolve according to the final exam score (percentage) for the exam occurring at 8 PM CST as reported by myself, a graduate teaching assistant for the course. I will share a screenshot of the Canvas exam statistics page upon resolution. The average score includes all enrolled students who completed the exam.
The second exam specifically covers the following material from Cowen & Tabarrok, Modern Principles of Microeconomics (6th Edition):
Chapter 6: Taxes and Subsidies
Chapter 7: The Price System
This chapter touches very briefly on prediction markets!
Chapter 8: Price Ceilings and Floors
Chapter 9: International Trade
Chapter 10: Externalities
Chapter 11: Competition (Costs and Profit Maximization)
The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions. Students are allowed one double-sided 8.5 x 11 cheat sheet, handwritten or typed. The exams from two prior semesters are given as practice exams in the course's Canvas page.
Historical exam score data going back to Fall 2023 is provided below. Note that Spring 2025 did not sit for Exam One due to a snow storm.
