@SymmetryXZ it's pretty limited in terms of scope. outside of ninja fans its not common, and with ninja specifically it has been around for a few years, doesnt really resonate with 2024
@NoahRich. The meme was first posted in January of this year. I don't watch Ninja nor do I follow any of his socials. I still consistently the meme on Tiktok and Instagram reels.
@SymmetryXZ the song yeah, but there were low taper fader jokes before then. and again that song originated with ninja anyway
@NoahRich There was but barely, also If you look the article released and featured the low taper fade meme at #5, so Its safe to say that the low taper fade meme is MASSIVE.
@HussleBird I agree, which is why I put some on our baby hippo friend but alas the website creators seem to be heavily promoting HT
@IsaacLiu the voting on the website is fan submitted, not decided by some board or w/e.
if you want moo deng u should make a submission on knowyourmeme
either way, even though I won't vote for Hawk Tuah, it's hard to deny the podcast is at least half of the meme prevalence. A.I. voiceovers of her discussing infrastructure, philosophy, biology, meme videos of frat bros watching her podcast together, occasional clips of new one-liners from the show.
none reached themagnitude of the original but with regard to moo-deng the memes were just 'cute hippo'. bit easier to see how hawk tuah could be justifiable
@NoahRich when I clicked browse eligible memes hawk tuah was the first and moo Deng and many other good ones nowhere to be found, that's what I meant by the creators somewhat tilting the playing field
