I have always wondered about really if it's ethical to have a kid in space imagine never seeing (or probably even being able to go to with bone density and all that) earth it sounds pretty tragic for a whole person's life purpose to be staying on a little moon/Mars base and keeping it running (but it might just be me idk)

Maybe there will be a race to have the first child born on the moon

Seems unlikely this would happen for a while on the moon given that earth is so close. Not fair on the person being born unless you're really really sure it's safe.

Much worse cosmic radiation on the moon than any permanent Mars colony. Someone pregnant on the Moon might choose to go back to earth till they give birth.
