The 1962 Mets have the record for the modern era with a 120 loss season, and the Detroit Tigers came close with 119 losses in 2003

Resolves YES: the White Sox have now lost 121 this season.

@strutheo This can resolve YES now.

The White Sox now need to finish with a 7-game winning streak to avoid 120 losses.

The White Sox now have to win 10 of their remaining 16 to avoid hitting 120.

Granted, 6 of those games are against the next-worst team in the American League this year, and 3 of them are against the third-worst. But, really.

@SEE didnt expect it so soon lol

Well, the White Sox have to win 12 of their remaining 22 to avoid it at this point, when they've won only 5 of their previous 50 and are .221 on the year.

It shouldn't be impossible to win 12 of 22 (the players aren't really that bad, and baseball is swingy on a game-to-game basis; the White Sox did beat the Yankees by ten runs back on August 12th), but they've got to be truly demoralized at this point.

LET’S GO, WHITE SOX!!!
