Trump has recently launched a new brand of $399 golden sneakers. He called them the “Never Surrender High-top sneaker”.
Trump is also selling red sneakers branded “Red Wave”, and white sneakers called “POTUS 45”.
This market will resolve YES if I see any official Trump branded sneakers in the wild. I don’t think any of my friends will buy them, but I travel a lot, so I might see somebody wearing them. I do live in New York, where there is a surprisingly large number of Trump supporters. If Trump hosts a rally near my where I live, I might try and go to try and find someone wearing Trump sneakers. I will try and snap a photo for verification if I see somebody wearing them.
Speaking as a sneaker-wearer living in a sneaker-heavy economy, strangers stopping strangers at Trader Joe’s to admire and discuss other people’s sneakers, and everyone knows someone who can get you into the Nike or Adidas company store — the design of these is horrible. Trump Tower lobby is a triumph of taste, proportion and intention compared to these. It’s like AI was prompted “Show me a knockoff of Chuck Taylors in the style ofJC Penneys circa 2002 sprayed with Rustoleum Gold.” You can like Donald Trump without liking his shoes, but with these, there will not be another way around.
