These polls you are doing are really obnoxious.
If meant literally - someone who supports the existence of Israel - "Zionist" is not a slur.
However "Zionist" is also commonly used as a term of abuse when people really want to say "Jew."
I don't know what you are up to with this poll, but I suspect you fully understand this distinction.
@Hero I’m sorry that you dislike my polls. My polls are not intended to try and find the one true meaning of a words, as obviously most words have multiple meanings that change over time, even slurs. For example, the word ‘redneck’ originally referred to people with sunburn on their neck, before being used more broadly in a derogatory manner.
This poll is inspired by the increased usage of the word “Zionist” since October 7th. For example, a bar in Salt Lake City implemented a ‘No Zionists allowed’ policy. This poll is intended to to investigate modern coloquial usage of the word, particularly since October 7th.
Because this is a poll, and not a market, I prefer to have short titles, because people don’t invest Mana in a poll. Specifically, the wording was set 1 week ago in a market to predict this poll’s outcome.
Perhaps the wording of the poll isn’t perfect, but this is why Manifold is such a great website: I can rerun the poll later with more better wording.
