1,000came across some old tweets from Tulsi Gabbard, and a lot of similar sentiments are resurfacing from Trump’s first term. many attribute the current escalation in part to his actions in 2018, and there’s growing speculation about whether the US will enter the conflict or if this could escalate to US troops fighting a war with Iran.
there were recent reports of sirens at the US embassy in Iraq, yet very limited statements from the administration on the current Iran–Israel conflict at all, even as Iran successfully struck residential areas around Tel Aviv.
for now, Trump seems boastful about the strikes and is reinforcing that the US was made fully aware of the plans. that said, it's not outside of his general temperament to both proudly use actions as a personal compliment/to his advantage AND say things like "this had to be done because Sleepy Joe didn't get Iran to make a deal sooner" or similar.
