After a Sunday afternoon planning session bolstered by wine-fuelled enthusiasm, the recently established Seattle(ish) Manifold Meetup will now occur weekly for the foreseeable future starting Jan 24th. @RobertCousineau and I are hoping to collect a little community of people who want to touch grass and markets at the same time (because why choose).

Along with that, we have an alt - @sEArats - to host some topical and local markets and tournaments. I want to crowdsource some ideas for markets to run there, pls. Add your own responses (or a comment, and I'll add it in).

Feel free to be specific if you're in the area or familiar with local politics/policies/interests/events/whatever. If you have ideas or have seen markets in different locales but aren't familiar with Seattle or PNW specifics, add them anyway, and we can localize them in the market itself. Short- or long-term markets are welcome, or multi-market tournament ideas.
* If it's not a local topic but an interesting idea, add it in - not all of the markets have to be Seattle-specific as long as they're unique, imo.

response resolves Yes at the time of market creation if we choose to use it. shitposts will be bet in full and resolved to my benefit, or N/A (TIA but also, just don't do it).

I'll extend the resolution date if we decide to keep collecting ideas here or haven't yet had an opportunity to use good suggestions.

unless @RobertCousineau wants to take over this market (in which case I'll reopen and manage as I don't think he's used any suggestions yet) I unfortunately think this needs to NA as none of this was done and Robert is in charge of the Meetup. I'll wait for his reply.

@shankypanky thanks for the reminder. I'll make markets I like before the end of the weekend.

@RobertCousineau nice I've extended the close date

Wow. I mangled my suggestion…

@suzumebatchi But I do think focusing on questions about products made in the PNW that many of us enjoy could provide rich markets to explore.

@suzumebatchi you can edit! Or I can if you want to talk through any changes?

@shankypanky I’ve edited it twice, but I think the Y/N format makes it difficult to propose interesting market questions.

the next Manifund project Seattle meetup is 24 Jan and weekly from there. still happy to receive some topic suggestions for markets and tournaments.

@shankypanky Where is this meetup taking place? …asking for a friend. 😏

@suzumebatchi come!! so far they've all been on the east side but we're going to diversify. DM me? I'll send you details. for your friend. 🙃

How many people who work as a developer full time will attend the next meetup

nice thought but we're not likely to run individual markets for every meeting on niche aspects of attendees @strutheo

@strutheo updating them to add "at the next meetup"

@shankypanky ahh got it. sure! however you want to edit them
