I brought a car to SF while I'm working at the Manifold offices on Manifest. @SG said that it might be a nightmare to have a car in SF for a month. Will I consider it a nightmare?

(resolution based on my subjective idea of "nightmare")

This should resolve based on your opinion as of a week ago, it's been a month

@ian yea i wrote out my criteria & then forgot to resolve it, sorry!

this is what i wrote:

it was definitely annoying at times, but i really enjoyed having a car. doesn’t really qualify as a “nightmare.” i think there was a higher probability of it being a nightmare in expectation than I initially gave it, but

…but it didn’t end up being a nightmare.

so far: purchased a 4 week pass to park on the street. there’s this background stress that it’ll get broken into/towed or something, which is heightened because it’s (a) not my car (it’s my cousin’s) and (b) it’s quite a nice car. however, i’ve really loved the freedom of being able to drive to palo alto or berkeley whenever i want — i have friends in both places, so i usually drive to one or both about once or twice a week.

predictedYES

How is it going so far? Any tickets?

Do not leave anything in your car when parked on the street. (I know one person who leaves their glove compartment open so that it is visibly empty.)

Drive on that route 1, you’re gonna be in happy dreamland

Absolute mad lad.

Do you have safe parking at the office and where you sleep?

@ZicoVerona i’m parking on the street at my appartment, and walking to the office!
