You can create Multi-Select and Ranked Choice polls now

For Ranked Choice, I recommend using Ranked Pairs / any system where the Condorcet winner always wins.

Or at least not instant run-off, which has weird failure modes.

@Haiku What do you suggest when there's no single Condorcet winner?

(edited)

@HankyUSA Ranked Pairs does have a tie break method, but you could also use Minimax, or Schultze if you're ambitious.

@Haiku went with minimax for deciding the winner and borda points just for display

@ian I suggest making it very clear in those polls that these methods are very different from the form of ranked choice that's used in public US elections.

Hell fuckin yeah, we're so back :)

@TheAllMemeingEye THE GOLDEN AGE OF MANIFOLD IS HERE

Can you add autodetection of nonmonotonicity to RCV polls? "Your candidate lost because you voted for them, and if you'd voted for this other guy the result would have been better for you"

@ian there's also IIA/the spoiler effect. This one is trivial to detect, just iterate over losing candidates, removing one of them, checking if the winner changes, then putting them back in.

nice :)

very nice

Nice.

AAAAH!!!

Christmas came early this year.

@Quroe when is christmas normally for you, if this is early?

@realDonaldTrump You mean to tell me that that phrase only works for 51 out of 52 weeks in a year?

@Quroe yeah

@realDonaldTrump Ya got me. I'm a fraud.
