This market will resolve YES if any normal player (not a dev, alpha tester, etc) is able to play Path of Exile 2, killing at least one monster, as part of the closed beta on or before the original scheduled release date, June 7, 2024.
Market will resolve NO if the closed beta is delayed for any reason, or if there is a catastrophic issue with the servers such that nobody is able to play the game by market close.
is able to play Path of Exile 2, killing at least one monster, as part of the closed beta on or before the original scheduled release date, June 7, 2024.
@Gen My question is about this part
> any normal player (not a dev, alpha tester, etc)
If not every player is able to access the closed beta, how does this market resolve?
@Dennis5a87 fair enough, I can see the confusion in the [etc]. From what I understand, beta testers are expected to play it for this market, not devs or other people paid to do QA testing
hopefully it gets clarified. @pkpr
@Dennis5a87 This market may still resolve YES if not every player is able to play in the closed beta. The reason for the statement I gave is that, obviously, developers and other select people will still be able to play the "closed beta" version of the game even if it does not officially release on Jun 7 or if there are server issues on Jun 7.
To determine who is a "normal" player:
As we get closer to the closed beta release date, GGG will certainly release more information about how to join the closed beta. This may include a few steps like filling out a sign up form, purchasing a supporter pack, or demonstrating value as a playtester. A normal player will be anyone who completes whatever process described by GGG and does not do anything else to get special access to the game.
@pkpr [deleted] , reread everything and changed my mind. was already confident I understood before but 99.9% sure now.
edit: I actually think its fine with these additions + the description - much clearer! Thanks
@pkpr Thansk for the detailed response! Just to confirm my understanding of your intention some examples. As I understand it, below are some examples that would cause this market to resolve NO:
Beta does not release on june 7th
Significant server issues or technical issues which would cause a large part of playerbase unable to play
The requirement(s) to be invited to the beta are restrictive in such a way that a large part of the playerbase is unable to join
The beta has a restriction on the amount of players that can join the closed beta, and as such a large part of the playerbase is unable to play
Simplified requirements for this market to resolve YES would be:
Closed Beta opens on june 7th and;
Every player should be able to join the closed beta and;
If there are requirements to join the closed beta, they should be reasonably achieveable for every player
As I understand, buying a supporter pack as a requirement is not enough to resolve NO. Personally I would find a paid beta in anotherwise free to play game is a major obstacle. Could you clarify?
